We are very pleased to announce that the 15th International Clubhouse Seminar will be held October 24-29, 2009 at the stunning TradeWinds Island Resort property on St. Pete Beach, Florida. It is sure to be an important event in the pursuit of our mission to increase and sustain the number of ICCD certified Clubhouses throughout the world. Vincent House, the first certified ICCD Clubhouse in Florida will serve as our local host Clubhouse. The members, staff and board of directors are very eager to show you their Clubhouse and community. Everyone is already busy preparing for your arrival.
Vincent House is located in the City of Pinellas Park, Florida. Pinellas Park’s Mayor, Bill Mischler, is a strong supporter of Vincent House and visits the Clubhouse often. He affectionately refers to Vincent House as “the House of Hope.” Pinellas Park is just a 20 minute ride from Tampa International Airport and 20 minutes from the TradeWinds Island Resort.
The TradeWinds Island Resort offers a waterfront setting on St. Pete Beach and has a hint of the island tropics. A relaxing setting will afford participants of 15IS the opportunity to balance the demands of the Seminar with peaceful strolls along the beach and beautiful sunsets at the end of a long day.
Pinellas County is a beautiful peninsula of nearly one million residents. It offers miles of soft white sand, blue green water, and the relaxing splash of waves. Located on Florida’s West coast, Pinellas County is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and Tampa Bay to the east. The northern border of Pinellas County is Tarpon Springs where you can enjoy the Greek sponge docks. The southern border is Fort De Soto beach, which was named the #1 beach in the United States in 2005. In between, there are many miles of beautiful pristine Florida landscapes. Many golf courses, shops, museums and major attractions including Busch Gardens and the Dali Museum are located less than an hour’s drive from Tradewinds Island Resort.
The 15th International Clubhouse Seminar will offer a wide array of learning opportunities about innovative, as well as basic practices, in the dynamic and growing Clubhouse Model for people living with mental illness. Inspiring plenary sessions and interactive workshops along with exciting social events will provide an exciting forum for the exchange of information and ideas of interest to new and veteran Clubhouses.
From the moment of your arrival, until your departure, you will be showered with the hospitality for which Vincent House, Pinellas County, and the Tradewinds Island Resort are known!
